Introduction:
Electric current follows two types of flow pattens: direct current (constant flow in one direction) and alternating current (frequent surges back and forth). This unit emphasizes the first of these two types of current flow. It examines the nature of the flow of electric current, how it is motivated to flow (voltage), and what opposes it's flow (resistance). In addition, we will look and learn about how resistors and capacitors (two basic electronic components) are used to direct, regulate, and store electric charge.
We are about to launch into the study of electricity and electronics. In this unit you are going to learn how current flow is created and regulated. You will use resistors to direct and limit current flow and learn how capacitors can be used to store charge and protect circuits.
